It has been over 2 months since I have posted. I'm going to be very honest here and say I was not ready to leave 3rd grade. It was a HUGE transition for me from Pre-K to 3rd. I worked harder last year than I've ever worked in my life. I fell in love with 3rd grade. It was like finishing a book you love and not wanting it to end, but it does anyway. I know that the next "book" in my life, the Kindergarten book will be equally fabulous, it just took me a good long time to emotionally and mentally let go of 3rd grade.
But...I HAVE...thanks to Pinterest, lots of good blogs, my old beloved picture books, and mostly my own personal photo album of pictures of my Kindergarten classes from 1999 and 2000 (the last time I taught K). I can't decide if I'm going to keep the blog going or not. There is no shortage of materials and ideas for K, and I felt that finding stuff specific to Georgia Performance Standards in 3rd was scarce. I have purchased, printed, and laminated Deanna Jump's CCGPS and they are ready to hang in my new room.
Until I'm sure of what I'll need, I'm not really making anything, so I don't have anything to share :( As pre-planning approaches I'm sure necessity will be knocking at my door and I'll make a few things and when I do I promise to share. :)
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Wow, what a transition you are making! Good luck and keep us posted! I'm your newest Georgia follower!

I think Kindergarten is such a 'magical' year for a child. So much more memorable for the rest of any child's life, than many other grades. We all remember our Kindergarten teacher, in a special way. Don't we? How blessed all of the little children will be, who have you, to remember, Mrs. Cleek.
ReplyDeleteThank you Natalie!
